My journey through biotechnology and technology has been shaped by hands‑on research, leadership roles and a commitment to continuous learning. Below is a timeline of experiences that have refined my expertise and perspective.
Joined the Host–Pathogen Interaction Lab as a research intern and gained hands‑on biomedical research experience. Performed cell culture of zebrafish and murine cells, executed single‑cell, trunk and caudal vein injections, and assisted with Western blotting and PCR workflows. Supported ongoing projects on alphaviruses and bacterial infections, learning to maintain animal models, prepare reagents and record experimental observations.
During my Final Year Project, I had the extraordinary privilege of deepening my knowledge of infectious diseases through hands-on work with zebrafish (Danio rerio) models. This opportunity allowed me to master essential skills in zebrafish handling, husbandry, and microinjection techniques, including single-cell, trunk, and caudal vein injections. Through this work, I gained valuable insight into host–pathogen interactions, particularly in the context of alphavirus infections such as chikungunya, which remain a pressing global health challenge.

I had the extraordinary privilege of acquiring invaluable skills in microbiology and molecular biology, particularly through hands-on experience with Zebrafish models under the mentorship of Dr. Guillaume. This opportunity expanded my expertise, enabling me to master techniques such as single-cell, trunk, and caudal vein injections. Additionally, I observed and learned various procedures involving mice models. My journey also included mastering advanced techniques such as transfections for generating knockout cell lines, PCR, qRT-PCR, and infectivity assays. I am profoundly grateful to Dr. Guillaume for this incredible opportunity to learn and grow under his guidance. This internship not only introduced me to the fascinating world of virology but also deepened my knowledge of molecular biology and cloning. I was given opportunities to explore various types of experiments such as bacterial work, protein work, Molecular cloning, virus work and animal models. These experiences have significantly enriched my expertise and fueled my passion for scientific research.
