During my tenure at the Host-Pathogens Interaction Lab in Infectious Diseases Labs, A*STAR, I gained valuable hands-on experience in biomedical research, including cell culture and animal models, such as zebrafish and mice. I mastered techniques such as single-cell injections, trunk injections, and caudal vein injections in fish. I investigated various pathogens, including alphaviruses and bacteria, using immunological, microbiological, and molecular biological techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, etc. This research enhanced my understanding of infectious diseases and their translational applications, providing me with valuable insights for advancing biomedical research. This experience not only strengthened my technical skills but also ignited my passion for translational research, solidifying my commitment to contributing to innovative solutions in the pharmaceutical industry.

As recognition of my commitment and passion to serve the community, I have been appointed as a Grassroots Leader and a member of TJYN.
As a class, we collected used and unwanted book from SST Students and distributed them to Primary school students who need them. It was truly satisfying to see the smiles and thank you notes of those students.
I helped out as a volunteer to set up tables and banner as well as planning the layout. I also helped to register donors and asked them to take a refreshment after donating to reenergise themselves to prevent any injuries.
I helped out as a operations member where I helped out with the Zoom operations (Assigning breakout rooms, Admitting to zoom, etc). I also helped to set up tables and chairs along with pre-event matters. This event was organised by the Taman Jurong Youth Network.
I helped to register donors and ask them to take a refreshment after donating to reenergise themselves to prevent any injuries.
Collected and packed food to give them to the needy people in HDB blocks
As a class we went to Lions Befrienders (420 Clementi) Senior Activity Center to engage the seniors there. I learnt collaborative and communication skills as I had to communicate with the seniors loudly and clearly for them to understand. I also had to work together with my class to ensure that the day we planned was fun and appropriate for the elderly.
